GRR Number: 16-065
Type of Surrender: Owner surrender
Status: Available
Age: 5
Weight: 55 pounds
Personality: Five year old Becky, according to her foster mom, is a calm, sweet attention hound. She is a low energy girl who hasn’t shown much interest in chasing toys yet. When she is given a ball or toy, she politely gives it right back as if to say, “this is kid stuff, mom!”
Becky sleeps in a crate at night. It takes about 5 minutes of protests in the form of barking before she settles down to sleep right through the night. She much prefers to sleep on the floor next to the couch when foster mom takes a nap.
Becky hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs since she has been in her foster home, but what little exposure she has had, she has behaved quite well. Her foster family has a cat, which when spotted by Becky, brings on a bout of barking.
Becky is a good car rider and even better walker - no dawdling and keeps up with foster mom. It’s on her walks where she has had limited exposure to children just as she strolls past them. We don’t know yet if she has that strong golden swimming gene. Her foster family has a pool, but so far has only dipped her toes in.
Ideal Family: Since she is a very calm lady, it seems like Becky would do well in a quiet family with no cats. Becky loves attention and to be around people so this family must be one who will love and hug and play with her to her hearts content.
